Who we are
RUNOUT. ("we", "the site") is a free tool at runout-finder.lovable.app that lets visitors look up vinyl and CD pressings by matrix code, runout etching, barcode or catalog number. This policy explains what data is collected when you use the site and why.
Information we collect
We do not require an account and we do not ask for your name, email address or payment details. The site collects only:
- Search queries — the matrix code or barcode you type is sent to the Discogs API to return a result. It is not linked to you personally and is not stored in a user profile.
- Standard technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and pages viewed, logged by our hosting provider and analytics for security and aggregate traffic measurement.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses them for measurement and advertising, not for tracking you across unrelated activity of our own. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings; the lookup tool will continue to work without them.
Google AdSense and advertising
We display advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices. Google's own practices are described in the Google Privacy & Terms page. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are shown a consent message where required, and personalised advertising cookies are only set with consent.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage — how many people visit, which pages they read, and roughly where they come from. This data is reported in aggregate and is not used to identify individual visitors.
Third-party services
Release data and marketplace statistics are retrieved from the Discogs API. Some product links to Amazon, Turntable Lab and Ko-fi are affiliate links; if you click one, that destination site sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy, and we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We do not sell or share your personal data with anyone.
Data retention and security
We hold no user database. Server and analytics logs are retained only for the limited period our hosting and analytics providers apply by default, then deleted automatically. All traffic to the site is encrypted over HTTPS.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data relating to you, or to object to its processing. Because we do not operate accounts, the fastest route is usually to clear cookies and use the opt-out links above. If you would like us to act on a request, contact us and we will respond within a reasonable period.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
